RALEIGH, N.C. (March 25, 2009) —
Four students in Wake Tech's Automotive Systems Technology program have been awarded scholarships by the Hendrick Cary Auto Mall. Each student will receive $2,000 for tuition and other educational expenses. The merit-based scholarships, representing Hendrick's four local stores, were established to assist future auto technicians with the cost of earning a degree. This is the second year that Hendrick has sponsored the scholarships.
The 2009 Hendrick Scholarship winners are:
- Michael T. Burch, Apex
- Quintin J. Campbell, Apex
- Brian R. Dean, Cary
- Ed-Landus T. Faulk, Garner
Executives from Hendrick Auto Mall met the students today and toured Wake Tech's Automotive Systems Technology training facilities. "In this economy, well-trained auto technicians are more valuable than ever," Hendrick representative Gary Letkemann says, "We're pleased to support these students as they gain the knowledge and skills necessary to become productive in the automotive industry."
The Hendrick Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, attitude, and motivation - and who are committed to pursuing a career in the automotive industry. Students were nominated by their instructors and the Dean of Wake Tech's Applied Technologies division. |
